Maressa and Ben were married the weekend that Hurricane Irene passed by Boston. Because of the impending rain, they decided to schedule a last minute portrait session the day before the wedding so that we could stroll through some of their neighborhood in the South End and get some nice photographs of them while the sun was still out. It worked out perfectly since I was able to document some of their rehearsal dinner at Mistral as well. It was a beautiful evening that transitioned into a beautiful wedding day. Both their ceremony and cocktail style reception took place at the Goethe-Institut Boston. The space was perfect for their event–elegant, ornate, and intimate–and Emilie of Pink Orchid Weddings was there to make sure everything ran smoothly. It was a truly lovely night, filled with mingling and laughter–one that left us all forgetting that it was pouring outside!
